TUMBLED TIMBER - Highway 2

While driving home from a photo trip I had to stop and photograph this spot. It caught my eye for a number of reasons.  All over the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and in some parts of the lower peninsula you'll find boggy swamps and/or shallow lakes that are simultaneously sprouting new growth and bringing down old growth. I think this is a great image because it shows off something rarely photographed while being a compositionally strong image: leading lines, layers of texture, and an imperfect but interesting symmetry make this a great image to me.

Archival Matting Our acid free and lignin free mat boards are made from virgin-alpha cellulose. We use only Crescent Alpha mat rag museum board, which was designed for the Metropolitan Museum of Art almost a century ago, yet it remains the leading choice of museums and library today. All our artwork comes hinge-mounted, a more archival process than other alternatives such as dry-mounting. Limited editions are matted with double 4-ply mats. Open edition prints are 5x10 in an 11x14 single 6-ply mat.
